Anyone who has delved deeply into the roots of our bubble’s genetic culture will have noticed that the OG rabbit hole is quite deep. Since no one should feel offended here, the story will not be rolled out unnecessarily broadly.
According to Crockett, Kosher is “the original” and was backcrossed three times (BX3) with a Kosher Headband male until it most closely resembled Kosher in terms of growth and taste. This was the so-called Kosher OG. It smelled and tasted like a skunky Cheese.
A Headband is nothing more than one of the many Sour Diesel Regs crossed with one of the many OG Kush Regs or vice versa.
True D was already my own Headband line, from which several significant grandparents and great-grandparents such as Chem, Diesel, Sour Diesel, Pure Kush (OG), and Kosher could be selected in the F2, which were gradually consolidated in individual subsequent generations through their personal characteristics and properties. However, True D F2 was already very satisfactory and represented what really makes a Headband.
True D is a Topanga Canyon (Pure Kush cut [OG]) × Mike Larry (Gelato #45 × Larry OG F8).
The Larry OG F8 is a cross between an OG Kush Lemon Larry and a Sour Diesel IBL.
The female cultivar from this cross, which did not exhibit any Gelato characteristics and was absolutely dominant in Sour Diesel and Larry OG, was then crossed with a Sour Kosher (AJ’s Sour Diesel × Kosher Kush) male.
In the first generation of True D, the most dominant Sour Diesel/Kosher cultivar was again taken and crossed with a male plant from the same generation to obtain the F2. Neither the True D F1 nor the F2 generation produced Gelato-dominant plants, so it was immediately crossed with Kosher again to keep the Headband as traditional as possible.
Particularly significant flavor profiles in Headband are sour lime, eucalyptus, diesel & gas (car repair shop), as well as slightly earthy nuances with a certain skunk funk. ♥
