After six years, it was time again. A few Banana Joe seeds were planted and pollinated with a True D F2 male, resulting in Sour (Banana) Bubble.
Those looking for more dominance on the paternal side may wish to consider Grandma’s Headband (Kosher x True D).
Most Sour Bubble plants exhibited moderate stretching of 150% and were fully mature on average after approximately 55-63 days of flowering.
A few testers experienced leaf mutation, but this did not affect growth or flower production. On the contrary, these phenotypes were often the most terpene-rich.
On average, Sour Bubble achieved a return of 26-28% with 5g pressings of dried flowers at 76°C and 37-micron bags (BottleTec method).
Banana Joe #53 was particularly significant in its Banana Bubblegum aroma, with a dominance of bubblegum. The banana is rather fleeting, but can also be found in some cultivars of Banana Joe #53 x True D. In general, this cross is very reminiscent of a Sour Bubblegum with nuances of Sour Diesel and Kosher from the True D F2 male.
As with all other strains, we would like to briefly point out that hermaphrodites may occur in this strain. This is a well-known phenomenon in cannabis. Such information was already found on Sacred Seeds’ packaging and catalogs in the late 1970s, for example in connection with Skunk #1. Anyone who looks at the pedigree of Grandma’s Genetics Sour Bubble on seedfinder.eu will notice that Skunk #1 appears multiple times in its lineage as well.
Plants that exhibit both sexual characteristics very strongly should be removed from the garden (unless you intend to produce seeds). Anyone who does not feel up to the task of regularly checking their plants for hermaphroditism should consider not purchasing this strain.
